GCSE Exams 2019 - Be Proud
Year 11 students sat their final exam on Monday 17 June and this week have finally been able to breathe a sigh of relief knowing they have given 100% effort. I am immensely proud of the way the girls have conducted themselves over this intense period of exams and look forward to celebrating with them on GCSE Results day on 22 August 2019.
Students and staff celebrate Refugee Week – Be Nice
The Sarah Bonnell curriculum provides opportunities for students to develop their understanding of the world and this week, as part of wider national events, we have been thinking about the experience of refugees, past and present. Amongst other activities, the Piazza display has prompted students to think about the shared heritage of migration, the value of living in diverse communities and our global responsibility to provide a safe haven for people whose human rights are being violated.
On Thursday lunch-time staff from across the school got together for a fund-raising event in order to support Refugee Week. Staff donated dishes they had bought, baked and prepared in order to have a healthy and sociable lunch. All the donations go to our school charity, United World Schools.
Sarah Bonnell students get in to engineering with Siemans and Green Power – Aim High
Students at Sarah Bonnell have had the opportunity to build an electric car. Our students are passionate engineers who are excited about this build and design process.
Ms Adel has been leading the project and has supported the students who have been meeting up regularly during the lunch break to build this amazing car. Students have worked really well as a team ensuring everyone is involved in the process.
The students are planning to race this car in July and hope to get through to the finals in October 2019! Watch this space for the next F24 SB racers!
