SPORTS DAY: 7th July 2009
This year we will be holding the Sarah Bonnell annual sports day at Cricklefields ILFORD ATHLETIC TRACK.
David Beckham Academy: 21st May 09
28 Yr 8/9 students visited the David Beckham Academy and experienced an exciting, ‘fun-packed’ day. As well as football training, the students attended workshop sessions on management, the effects of diet, injury prevention and coaching. Teamwork was given a high priority throughout the day.
Cricket coaching has started this term and we are hoping to see some cricket stars from Sarah Bonnell in the near future.
Good luck to the Yr 9+10 Athletic teams who are representing Sarah Bonnell in the Newham Athletic Championships at the end of May.
Yr 8 Championship at Newham: 10th June 09 (from 1 to 4pm) and Yr 7 Championship at Newham: 9th July 09 (from 1 to 4pm)
Sportsleader Training: 23 Yr 7,8,9 students achieved a Young Leaders Award in Sport. They attended 8 hrs of training and are now working to help the PE staff at Sarah Bonnell and support local primary schools.
Newham Leadership Academy
8 Yr 9,10,11 students from Sarah Bonnell were successful in gaining places on this new initiative. Well done girls!
