Categories: General News

On the 7th of June a group of 20 singers from the Year 7 choir performed with the the 500 strong Newham Young Peoples Chorus in a spectacular and moving concert. They sang to a packed audience who loved it so much they were all on their feet for the final number "All Nations Rise" as well as being moved to tears by a number of rousing performances ranging from a Bollywood song accompanied by a 6 year old tabla player to a rendition of Beethoven's Ode to Joy accompanied by a chamber orchestra. One of the highlights of the evening was Paul Watson's new song "One Heart" with four fabulous soloists all picked from Sarah Bonnell School. Watch them in rehersals...

Ola Adeyemi, Tara Mann, Amelia Adams and Eliole Ometan (all year 7) were chosen from the 500 strong choir at audition and all four did themselves proud by producing stunning performances on the night. Watch the grand finale...

As well as the NYPC there were also two guest choirs performing, "Young and Gifted" and "Solid Harmony" which included Shaima Almola and Evelyn Sanassou from Year 9. The whole evening was a huge success and the performers and audiences went home elated and full of the joy of singing!
