Curriculum Aims

In English, at Sarah Bonnell School we foster a deep passion for reading, inspiring students to develop competent communication skills that will help them to succeed in all areas of life. We also encourage students to develop a sense of ownership over their learning in English.

We are immensely proud of the outstanding improvements and attainment reached by students at the end of KS4, where results in English Language, English Literature and Media Studies are all above the national average for girls. Our summer 2017 results of 85.5% Grades 9-4 in English Language, and 89.3% Grades 9-4 in English Literature establish us a highly successful curriculum area.
