Key Stage 3
Students in years 7 and 8 have lessons 3 hours per week, in mixed ability groups. The lessons deliver the National Curriculum objectives for reading, writing, speaking and listening and drama.
Each lesson is made of four parts as follows;
- Lesson starters/spelling tests, lively start to lesson
- Teaching - Modelling
- Learning - Trying
- Plenary - Consolidation
Homework is set twice a week, each piece should last 35 minutes.
Year 9 Students are taught English in the same format as year 7 and 8, but have additional extra curricular lessons delivered through the SATs Booster Programme.
